I was asked to furnish this lovely house in Altamont, West Vancouver. The owners had just moved in, left all of their old furniture behind, and wanted to start fresh. They originally wanted a contemporary house, but fell in love with the location and layout of this classically designed home fitted with wainscoting, coffered ceilings, and crown mouldings. Rather than renovate, we decided to work with the existing details and juxtapose them with sleek furnishings and cabinetry, many of which are custom designed. Walls were painted to distinguish zones. Darker tones in the rooms for lounging invite you to stay and relax. These rooms stand out against the airy, bright, open areas that surround them. The client's own abstract art adorns many of the walls of this house.
